Dr. Ashkan Afshari is a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in body, breast, and facial procedures. After earning his Master of Science and Medical Doctorate, he completed an intensive five-year general surgery residency and earned his board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery. He then began conducting in-depth research in plastic surgery with a focus on safety in cosmetic surgery. He continued his journey with rigorous training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which is considered one of the top plastic surgery residency programs in the country. Being a high-volume center, he was able to perfect his craft and deliver outstanding results to his patients. Dr. Afshari then earned his board certification in plastic surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, earning the title of a double board-certified plastic surgeon.
Dr. Afshari’s efforts to the advancement of plastic surgery are evident in his contributions to numerous scientific journals including the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Journal. He served as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Virtual Grand Rounds subcommittee where he had the opportunity to moderate lectures given by world-renowned plastic surgeons. He is also a candidate member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
