What is a Rhinoplasty?
A rhinoplasty adjusts the size, shape, and/or proportions of the nose to improve facial harmony. This may be performed not only to change the appearance of the nose, but also to improve the patient’s breathing.
Am I a Rhinoplasty candidate?
Plastic surgery should always be a personal decision that is not influenced by the opinions of others. As with any plastic surgery, patients must always be in good health and have realistic goals to be considered for this procedure. If you identify with any of the following, you may be an ideal candidate for a rhinoplasty:
✨ You feel your nose is either too big and/or wide
✨ You have a bump on the bridge of the nose
✨ You have a drooping, upturned, or bulbous nasal tip
✨ You have large or upturned nostrils
✨ You have a deviated septum causing asymmetry or difficulty breathing
How long is Rhinoplasty recovery?
Following a rhinoplasty, your nose will be placed in an external and/or internal splint and bandaged which will typically be removed within 7-14 days post-op. While you may feel comfortable enough to move around within 24 hours, patients typically require at least 1-2 week off from work or school as they recover from a rhinoplasty. Patients should avoid any cardiovascular activity or heavy lifting (anything above 5lbs) for 4-6 weeks. It’s extremely important to adhere to the post-op instructions provided to you by your plastic surgeon to ensure a safe, smooth rhinoplasty recovery.
