WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox is one of the most common medical aesthetic treatments for cosmetic use in the United States. Botox is injected into a patient’s muscles to temporarily improve the appearance of crow’s feet line, frown lines, etc. Botox aims to rejuvenate a patient's face and reveal a fresher, younger appearance. Luckily, this injectable does not require any downtime!
How Does Botox Work?
Botox targets the underlying mechanisms that cause unwanted wrinkles--repeated muscle contractions. Whether it's from squinting, frowning, etc., this injection will help undo the damage. Botox works by preventing signals from your nerve cells reaching your muscles, effectively leaving the muscles without instructions to contract. Basically, this injection enables the patient’s muscles to relax which subsquently smooths out facial wrinkles.

How Long Does Botox Last?
While Botox is great for smoothing moderate to severe wrinkles, it is not permanent. You will begin seeing a change in your appearance within 24-48 hours following injection. While results vary from patient to patient, you can typically expect Botox's effects to last anywhere from 3-6 months.
Is Botox Painful?
The mass majority of patients find these injections virtually painless--patients report that it feels like a little pinch. However, if you're nervous or scared of needles, you can request a numbing cream.
Will Botox Leave Me Expressionless?
Many patients assume that #Botox leaves your face completely expressionless 😳 Myth. By injecting small doses into specific muscles, you can have a natural softening of unwanted lines and wrinkles without compromising facial expressions.
