Meet Dr. Lyly Nguyen, HZ Plastic Surgeon!
Our practice has seen tremendous growth over the past several years, so we decided it was time to bring on an additional plastic surgeon to help us continue providing life changing transformations to our growing list of patients. We set out to find a talented, honest, and compassionate surgeon who shared our mission of a patient centered approach... and we are thrilled to announce that we have found the perfect fit.
So without further ado, we’re pleased to welcome the incredible body, breast, and facial plastic surgeon... Dr. Lyly Nguyen!
What does she prefer to be referred to as?
Dr. Lyly! Short and simple.
What is a typical day like for Dr. Lyly?
Her day as a plastic surgeon starts very early in the morning. She spends a lot of time in the operating room, meeting new patients during consultations, and ensuring her patients are happy with their results while discussing any of their questions in post-op appointments.
Why did she decide to become a plastic surgeon?
Dr. Lyly had always imagined she would become a breast cancer surgeon, but she realized after the removal of breast cancer…it was the reconstruction part that truly engaged her and ultimately inspired her to become a plastic surgeon.
What is her educational background?
After four years of undergraduate studies at UCSD, her training began during the next four years of medical school. Dr. Lyly then completed a rigorous five year general surgery training program and ultimately earned her board-certification as a general surgeon. She then went on to a year-long plastic surgery research fellowship and finished her training by completing a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University.
What does she believe is the most important part of a patient’s journey?
Having an incredibly strong patient/doctor relationship! She always has her patients' best interest in mind and believes in providing both honest and realistic goals and expectations.
What does she think about beauty trends?
Dr. Lyly has lived across the United States (NY, Miami, Nashville) and witnessed beauty trends come and go. She has learned that beauty is multifaceted - there is no perfect size or shape. Beauty should always be individualized to the patient to accentuate their unique features.
What advice does she give patients?
